On September 27th, Pope Francis will launch a global campaign called “Share the Journey” from Saint Peter’s Square in Rome. This historic initiative aims to bring awareness to the plight of migrants and refugees. It will run for two years from September 27, 2017 to September 2019.
According to our Holy Father, the initiative will help to dispel a “culture of indifference” and promote a “culture of encounter.” It means seeing through the eyes of others rather than turning a blind eye. In his words: “Not just to see but to look. Not just to hear but to listen. Not just to meet and pass by, but to stop.”
Archbishop Leonard P. Blair will share the message of “Share the Journey” at the Respect Life Mass at the Cathedral on October 8th at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
