Two Relics are Coming to St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Manchester Join the Parish for a special Mass to welcome relics of both Saint Teresa of Calcutta and Saint John Paul the Great. August 6, 2018 at 5 p.m. St. Bartholomew Church 45 Ludlow Rd, Manchester 860-646-1613 Both relics will reside at the Parish. This reliquary contains a lock of Mother Teresa's hair. Archbishop Metropolitan Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki, Archbishop Metropolitan of the Roman Catholic Church in Lviv and Chairman of the conference of Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine, is bringing the relic of John Paul the Great and will celebrate the Mass. Relics are objects that have a direct physical connection to Jesus or a saint – to someone whom the Church has recognized as a person we should follow as a role model. A relic may be a part of that person’s body, a piece of clothing or something the person owned and used, or even just something that has had contact with the holy person’s body or possessions. Relics are important because they remind us of the lives of the saints, and remind us that the saints are always with us. The relics of Saint Teresa of Calcutta and Saint Pope John Paul II, both which contain pieces the the Saints’, hair will remain as a permanent fixtures at the Parish of Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
