Department of Human Resources

Mission

The Department of Human Resources provides direction, technical assistance, training, equal employment opportunities, and labor relations coordination in the areas of recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified employees.

The Human Resources Department’s goal is to establish, administer and effectively communicate policies and procedures that are in compliance with state and federal labor laws, and also follow the mission and values of the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Human Resources is responsible for the recruitment and hiring of qualified individuals; job evaluation and wage studies including compensation administration; establishment of job growth policies and succession planning; coordination and administration of health and welfare plans with insurance carriers who provide comprehensive employee benefits; administration and communication of pension/retirement benefits; enforcement of all applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations, including unemployment and workers’ compensation, labor relations, Family & Medical Leave, Fair Labor Standards, and Equal Employment Opportunities.
