Checks & Credit Cards

Checks should be made payable to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Please provide your credit card details on the back of your pledge card. Kindly mail the enclosed gift/pledge card in the envelope provided or directly to the Appeal Office at 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002.

Pledged Gifts

Appeal gifts may be paid over five months. Please consider including your first month’s payment with your pledge card.

Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Gifts

Under the tax law you must take your first required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year in which you turn age 72. In 2022, if you reach age 72 you must take your first RMD (for 2022) by April 1, 2023, with subsequent RMDs on Dec. 31st annually thereafter. As a result of recent changes to the tax law, if you reach the age of 72 on or after Jan. 1, 2023, you are not required to take your first RMD until age 73. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity without having to pay income tax on the money. This is known as an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

Please consult your tax advisor and kindly instruct your retirement account broker to make the check payable to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, and mail it to 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Please call the Appeal Office at (800) 781-2550 with any questions you may have regarding this gift.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Every year, several local companies give generously to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal through matching gift programs. By matching, businesses are assured that their charitable resources support causes that are important to their employees. The impact of your gift to the appeal may be doubled by the generosity of a company matching gift.

As some matching gift companies do not match to religious organizations, they will match funds if restricted for non-religious purposes such as outreach efforts in the broader community as well as to Catholic Charities or Tuition Assistance. Refer to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Brochure for appeal allocations (Catholic Charities and Other Good Works of the Church, Emergency Assistance Fund and Malta House of Care, Tuition Assistance and Vicariate Outreach Programs). Or refer to the Appeal Accountability Report and Vicariate Outreach Recipients flyer which outlines all the recipients awarded appeal money for their good works in the community.

Please inquire about Matching Gift opportunities with your employer to enhance the value of your gift and learn of their requirement eligibility to the matching fund program. Please contact your Human Resource Department for a matching gift application that can be mailed with the pledge card you received. If you do not have a pledge card, please print this downloadable pledge form. Lastly, please fill out the application and your pledge card completely and return both to:

Archbishop’s Annual Appeal

  • 467 Bloomfield Avenue
  • Bloomfield, CT 06002
  • (Check made payable to Archbishop’s Annual Appeal)

If you are making your matching gift request via your employer’s online web connection please follow their procedures and note your matching gift intentions on your pledge card.
