Deacon Paul B. Lauer passed away on Tuesday March 12th, 2024, at the age of 85. Deacon Lauer was ordained on December 19, 1980 by Archbishop John F. Whealon, and served at St. Augustine (Seymour), St. Joseph (Ansonia), St. Mary (Milford), Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Lucy (Waterbury) parishes. He also served as a Chaplain at St. Mary’s Hospital (Waterbury), Bridgeport Hospital and West Haven Veterans Hospital. He relocated to Florida in 2009 where he continued his ministry as a Chaplain at West Palm Beach Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Heather, his children Paul B. Lauer Jr and his partner Tanya of Port St Lucie, FL, Richard Lauer and his wife, Denise of Seymour, Daniel Lauer and his wife, Shelley of Oakville, Bill Lauer and his wife Jessica of Monroe and his daughter Nicole Dlugas and her husband, Bill of Shelton.
