On Thursday, October 6, 2022, the Precious Blood Parish Legion of Mary will host the pilgrim statue Our Lady of Fatima Mother of Mercy & First Class Relics of Saints Jacinta and Francesco. The pilgrim statue and relics will be displayed at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford. Doors open at noon for silent prayer and reflection. The day will include a talk by the statue’s custodian, Judy Studer, Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3PM followed by a communal Rosary, and conclude with 7:30PM Vigil Mass of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. According to the pilgrim statue website, “As a Pilgrim statue, this ministry promotes Our Lady’s intercession through prayer to her Son. This representative pilgrim statue and First Class Relics provide an inspiration to both our young, and old equally, to answer God’s call.”
“Our Legion is continuously working under the standard of Mary to find new ways to evangelize and increase devotion to the Rosary of our Blessed Mother,” according to Our Lady of Mercy presidium president, Doreen Steele. Everyone in the Archdiocesan community is warmly welcome to make a pilgrimage to Precious Blood Parish, build devotion to Mary’s Immaculate Heart and bring about the graces that can be gained for the whole world by praying the Rosary. “We also have plans to revive Five First Saturdays in our parish,” says Steele. “The Fatima Pilgrim Statue is a great way to begin educating our parishioners about this devotion which was revealed by Mother Mary herself.” Whether you are completely devoted to the Rosary or just starting to learn about it, this day is meant for you.
We hope you will join us October 6 to learn more about the Fatima message and make this a special day for honoring Jesus by honoring His Mother in the likeness of Our Lady of Fatima. A complete itinerary for the event will be published on the Precious Blood Parish website at www.preciousbloodparish.org.
