Reverend David John Lewandowski, Class of 1955, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. We extend our deepest sympathy to Fr. Lewandowski’s family and friends at this time of sorrow, and we offer them our prayerful support.
- A small, private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
- While most priests, deacons, former parishioners, etc. are unable to attend the burial service for Fr. Lewandowski due to the current restrictions, a Mass celebrated for the respose of his soul will be held at a later date to be announced.

Reverend David John Lewandowski began his seminary education at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield before being sent to St. Bernard’s Seminary in Rochester, New York, to complete his training. He was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend Henry J. O’Brien at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford on May 19, 1955. Fr. Lewandowski’s first assignment was at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford. He would later serve as an assistant at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston, St. Mary Church in Torrington, St. Stanislaus Church in Waterbury, and Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. Becoming a pastor, he then served at St. Hedwig Church in Union City and Immaculate Conception Church in Southington, where he remained until his retirement in 2004.
