Reverend John Joseph Daly, Class of 1958, died Friday, February 26, 2021. We extend our deepest sympathy to Fr. Daly’s loved ones at this time of loss and offer them our prayerful support.
- The Most Reverend Leonard P. Blair will be the principal celebrant at a Mass of Christian Burial at the Chapel of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
- Burial will take place at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Reverend John Joseph Daly – Clergy Bio
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Reverend John Joseph Daly began his Catholic education at Immaculate Conception School in Hartford before entering Saint Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield. He would next complete philosophy and theology studies at Maryknoll Seminary in Lakewood, New Jersey, and Saint Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. He was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend Henry J. O’Brien at Saint Lawrence O’Toole Church in Hartford on May 15, 1958, as the Cathedral had been destroyed by fire on December 31, 1956, and was in the midst of being rebuilt. Fr. Daly’s first assignment was as an assistant at Saint Bernard Church in Sharon. Additional early assignments included work as an assistant at Saint George Church in Guilford, Saint Patrick Church in Waterbury, Saint Francis Church in Naugatuck, Our Lady of Victory Church in West Haven, Saint Rita Church in Hamden, Saint Paul Church in Kensington, and Holy Spirit Church in Newington. He would next be named Co-Pastor and Administrator at Saint Barnabas Church in North Haven, where he would later be named Pastor Emeritus and would remain until his retirement in 2004.
