Reverend Marion I. Krupnick entered peacefully into eternal life on August 15, 2024, shortly after celebrating his 70th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Born on January 21, 1929, in Kety, Poland, to Konstanty and Maria Krupnik, Father Marion prepared for the priesthood at the Institute of Philosophy and Theology of the Missionary Fathers in Krakow, Poland. He was ordained by Bishop Francis Jopp on April 2, 1954, at St. Francis of Assisi Basilica, Krakow, Poland.
In 1969, after serving fifteen years in the Archdiocese of Krakow, Father Marion immigrated to the United States to serve in the Archdiocese of Hartford and proudly became a United States citizen on January 26, 1976, and then incardinated on October 6, 1986.
In his thirty-two years of active ministry in the Archdiocese of Hartford, Father Marion assignments included St. Hedwig Parish in Union City, Sacred Heart Church in New Britain, SS. Cyril & Methodius Parish in Hartford, SS. Peter & Paul Church in Wallingford, and Holy Cross Church in New Britain.
In addition to his parents, Father Marion was predeceased by his sister, Veronica Marin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22nd, at Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta St., New Britain, at 11 am by the Most Rev. Christopher J. Coyne, Archbishop of Hartford. He will be laid to rest in the Priest’s Section in Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Msgr. Bojnowski Manor, 50 Pulaski St., New Britain, CT 06053. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Duska Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill in New Britain.
