Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Plocharczyk, Class of 1974, died on April 12, 2024, at the age of 75. Msgr. Plocharczyk served in many assignments and roles in his priestly ministry, including Moderator of the Curia, Chancellor, and Rector of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Most recently, he served as Pastor of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain for twenty years. We extend our deepest sympathy to Msgr. Plocharczyk’s loved ones at this time of loss and offer them our prayerful support.

• Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 1 PM to 6 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain.
• A Parish Mass in Polish will be celebrated at 6:30 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
• The Most Reverend Leonard P. Blair will be the principal celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain, on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11 AM.
• After the committal prayers at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St., New Britain, CT, as per Msgr. Plocharczyk’s wishes, priests are invited to a repast at the Crystal Ballroom, 211 Farmington Ave., New Britain.
