The Reverend Philip A. Sheridan died Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 98. He was our “oldest” priest. Ordained in 1951, he was the last living priest who was ordained for the “Diocese” of Hartford. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will take place in Trumbull where he has been living.
Fr. Sheridan served as Assistant at St. Bernard, Sharon; St. Joseph, Bristol; St. James, Rocky Hill; SS. Peter and Paul Waterbury; and St. Mary, Windsor Locks. He then served as Pastor/Co-Pastor at St. Lawrence O’Toole, Hartford; St. Bridget, Manchester; Assumption, Woodbridge; and St. Mary, Union City, retiring in 1998.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
