Though Archbishop Blair had planned to celebrate the 4:00 PM Mass on Christmas Eve and the 10:00 AM Mass on Christmas Day at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, out of an abundance of caution neither he nor Bishop Betancourt are able to be present at those Masses because on Monday they were in the company of a priest who later tested positive for COVID-19. Although masks were worn and the encounter was relatively brief, the bishops are awaiting a COVID test before celebrating public Mass. The archbishop’s Christmas homily is available below.
