Deacon John H. Charles, ordained a deacon in 1995 died on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Deacon Charles served at St. John the Evangelist in Watertown and Immaculate Heart of Mary in Harwinton (now Our Lady of Hope Parish). Please keep his wife, Betty, and family in your prayers.
- A Wake will take place at Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 No. Main St. Ext. in Wallingford, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
- A *Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Lawrence Church, 7 Hemlock Drive, Killingworth on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 12:00 Noon. (Viewing from 11 -12 prior to the Mass.)
- Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.

*Due to the fact that St. Lawrence Church is in the Diocese of Norwich, priests and deacons of the Archdiocese of Hartford who will attend the Mass of Christian Burial must notify Fr. John Gancarz at fr.gancarz@aohct.org of their intent to do so by Monday, January 17, 2022 at 7:00 PM so that the appropriate Letters of Suitability might be sent to the Diocese of Norwich and St. Lawrence Church. Please indicate your current assignment. This only applies to the Mass, not the Wake nor Burial. Failure to do so will result in you not concelebrating/vesting on Thursday.
