Deacon John W. Makara, ordained a deacon in 1987, died on Monday, January 18, 2021. Deacon Makara previously served as a Deacon at Saint Anthony Church in Bristol and at Saint Casimir Church and Immaculate Conception Church (both now of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish) in Terryville. A short biography of his ministerial work:
Deacon John W. Makara was ordained at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph by the Most Rev. John F. Whealon on June 6, 1987. Following his Ordination, Deacon Wilcox served at Saint Anthony Church in Bristol. He was next assigned at Immaculate Conception Church in Terryville and, later, Saint Casimir Church in Terryville, where he would serve for the remainder of his time in active ministry.
