September 8, 2019 culminates the year of celebration of the arrival of five Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame from Montreal, Canada to Waterbury 150 years ago. In the tradition of their Foundress, St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, the Sisters established Notre Dame Academy and Waterbury Catholic High for girls and continued to minister in Children’s Community School, Puerto Rican Youth Organization ( PRYO) and Holy Cross High School.
On September 8th, 2019, Archbishop Leonard Blair will celebrate the 12:00 noon Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Reception/ Dinner will follow at 1:30 at La Bella Vista, 380 Farmwood Rd., Waterbury. Tours of former buildings of Waterbury Catholic High and Notre Dame Academy are planned for September 7th, from 1-4 p.m.
