Free concert: ValLimar Jansen “Revive the Spirit”
Southbury, Connecticut – The Sacred Heart Church Music Ministry Janet Towey Mann Concert Series invites all area residents to experience an uplifting and inspirational evening of entertainment. Internationally known composer and vocalist, ValLimar Jansen will perform a FREE CONCERT, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC on Friday September 13, 2019 at 7pm at Sacred Heart Church. Located at 910 Main Street South in Southbury. Please join us for this high-energy, spirit-filled experience consisting of beautiful music and story-telling that will “Revive the Spirit.” The event will be followed by a light reception.
Free Workshop: ValLimar Jansen “Sing, Pray, Belong”
Southbury, Connecticut- In addition to Friday night’s concert on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 1pm-4:30pm, ValLimar will present a FREE workshop “Sing, Pray, Belong” for area liturgical music ministers, choir directors and members, cantors, accompanists and ANYONE who would like to explore discipleship through music. About ValLimar: Blessed with an extraordinary voice, ValLimar Jansen is a highly regarded inspirational/catechetical speaker, singer, composer and recording artist. She is also a college professor, a leader of worship and prayer, and a workshop presenter at conferences across the US and abroad. ValLimar has a long history of singing sacred music, starting from the age of five. She received most of her training in music and performance from Howard University in Washington, DC. She holds professional degrees in the arts from California State University, San Bernardino, and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
ValLimar sings a broad range of styles from traditional to contemporary. ValLimar tours regionally, nationally and internationally as an inspirational speaker, author, storyteller, psalmist, song leader, principal vocalist and emcee. ValLimar has been a keynote speaker and presenter at many major events. She participated in several events, concerts and catechetical sites during World Youth Day 2019, which took place in Panama City, Panama.
Funded by: The Janet Towey Mann Concert Series continues to provide quality music at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury. This concert is the 6th in the series, which began in honor of the memory of Mrs. Mann, a long time parishioner and choir member. The concert and workshop is made possible by her generous bequest in 2011.
