The Stations of the Cross being prayed at 7 p.m., Friday, March 14, at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, will have a dedicated theme: Stations of the Cross for Life. Participants will pray to protect and cherish all life as gifts from God from conception to natural death.
These stations are being prayed in advance of Pro-Life activities at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield, at 1 p.m., March 19, and noon the same day at the State Capitol in Hartford.
On Good Friday in 1991, Pope St. John Paul II celebrated a variation of the traditional Stations of the Cross. The U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities incorporated the titles and Scriptural readings he used and added the prayers following each Scriptural reading.
