Reverend Peter Stanley Sobiecki, Class of 1966, died Sunday, January 16, 2022. Fr. Sobiecki served at many parishes in the Archdiocese prior to his retirement, most recently as the Pastor of Holy Cross in New Britain. We extend our deepest sympathy to Fr. Sobiecki’s loved ones at this time of loss and offer them our prayerful support.
- Calling hours will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad Street, New Britain, on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8 PM.
- A Parish Mass (in Polish) for the repose of the soul of Fr. Sobiecki will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 6:30 PM.
- The Most Reverend Leonard P. Blair will be the principal celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:30 am. Visitation hours will take place in the church from 8:45 AM to 10:15 AM preceding the Mass. All concelebrating priests and vesting deacons are asked to congregate in the lower church before Mass.
- The burial will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
