On July 29, 2019, Sacred Heart Church, located at 24 Ely Street, Heart, Hartford, Connecticut,  will be  relegated to profane but not sordid use in accordance with canon 1222 §2. On June 21, 2019, Archbishop Leonard P. Blair issued a decree effecting the relegation that Sacred Heart Church is no longer a sacred place for divine worship.

During the weekend of July 13 and 14, the substance of the decree will be communicated to all parishioners by means of a notice in the weekend bulletin of Maria Reina de la Paz Parish in Hartford, including the display in appropriate places at all the churches, so that parishioners can read it as they enter or exit the churches. It will also be available on the website, www.stewardsfortomorrow.org, and will be posted in the Archdiocesan publication, The Catholic Transcript (see http://www,catholictranscript.org).  Canonical recourse may be made within the peremptory time limit of ten (10) days from the legitimate notification of the decree and in accordance with the norm of law (c. 1734 §2).
